FREE SCREENING @ RHODES ON TUESDAY

Posted on 14. Feb, 2010 by jhubbell in News

After a whirlwind trip around the nation (that’s still not over yet), “I Am a Man” comes home to Memphis on Tuesday for its first free public screening.

Join us at 7 p.m. at the McCallum Ballroom on the campus of Rhodes College. Cast and crew are scheduled to attend.

For more information, message browns@rhodes.edu.

“I Am a Man” is honored to be playing two festivals this weekend: the Charlotte Film Festival and the Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival in Birmingham.

Memphis Tourism Foundation Executive Director Calvin Taylor and writer/co-producer John Hubbell will appear on a panel about documentary filmmaking at Queens University this Saturday; our film will appear there on Sunday. Details on the panel here; showing here.

Meanwhile our film will also appear at Sidewalk, and what a great venue: the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. Details here.

We’ll post video of our trip to Charlotte here soon. Next up, we head to Louisville, Indie Memphis and Hot Springs. Details on those upcoming screenings shortly.

The 1968 sanitation workers were honored during a break in the action on the April 3 “Friday Night Fight,” held on Beale Street and televised on ESPN. We appreciate the chance to tell about our film and to shine a further spotlight on the contributions of those who are featured in our film.
